Playalove

This year for 2007 Playa Love is eliminating all green house gasses from our conscience through Cooling Man, a non-profit organization dedicated to the efforts of making Black Rock City the first carbon neutral city in the world. It was co-founded by David Shearer and Jeff Cole in an attempt to build bridges between the climate science and art communities to inspire direct climate action by groups and individuals. David is also directly involved in creating alternative energy for Burning Man including an entire solar array for the man itself. Last year Bently Biofuels powered the man and will be providing more biodiesel this year as well. However Burning Man has a three year plan to provide solar power to Gurlach donated from the new man power array’s making Gurlach the first city in the world to create more energy from the sun than it uses.

We are all very excited about the major efforts to green the burn. Cooling Man makes it easy if you don’t have any means to do so directly. You can either volunteer your time or donate money towards making not only our playa a cleaner, safer environment but the entire world.
